Eta is a large square abstract painting comprising of striking textural planes, deep edges and contrasting shadows and highlights. It is a very contemporary piece that has been painted solely in white. I sculpt and carve sections of plaster, and then build up layers of gypsum and professional quality white acrylic to create a flowing moulded finish. The white paint allows the natural shadows and highlights to be clearly shown and create a very unique piece. I love the tactile nature of textured paintings and for this artwork I wanted the texture itself to be the subject.
